Next Saturday and Sunday May 24 & 25th is the annual Doors Open Toronto event. Last year’s events were based around the idea of green spaces and this year, the them revolves around “Sacred spaces, sacred circles”, where you can view multicultural places of worship and Toronto’s National Historic sites for free. This year’s spotlight will be on the churches, chapels, temples, synagogues and mosques that make up the religous and spiritual diversity in the city. The event gives visitors an opportunity to see and explore 140 buildings of importance, with many which are not open to the general public.
This year, the event is also in collaboration with the Tafelmusik Orchestra and the Toronto Consort, in with special performances will be hosted in various buildings.
Pick up the official program guide, with maps and listings in the Toronto Star on Thursday May 22nd, 2008.
