Canada Day Celebrations in Toronto

A lot of fun events are going on this weekend. Toronto's Headset Express Blog listed a great FREE family event that is going on at Downsview Park. Most of us at Backpackers on Dundas do not actually have any young ones to take to that Canada Day celebration and but it likely won't stop some of us from going. Why should kids have all of the fun?

The Headset Express blog also provided this Canada Day 2008 Tooronto Events link, which has a bunch more options, some free, some almost free.

Don't forget it is also Gay Pride Week in Toronto and the celebrations are going on right up until our world famous Gay Pride Parade this weekend. Lot's of people (gay and straight) attend this colourful festival just to say that they have been. So if you are visiting the Toronto area, and are the adventurous sort, swing by...and bring your camera!

Also, don't forget fireworks at Mel Lastman this Tuesday. The Canada Day Celebrations at that location have an official start time of 8PM but I the entertainment will be starting at 7PM. Also, you will want to arrive early to get a spot.
