Free Events in Toronto this weekend!


Here are a few ideas to get this weekend kicked off to a fun start while you're backpacking in Toronto:

Saturday, January 19

Walk in Someone Else's Shoes at the Bata Shoe Museum
The Bata Shoe Museum is offering the opportunity to try on anything from ballet slippers to sealskin boots. Visit the museum and then try on some different types of footwear to feel what it's like to walk in someone else's shoes! FREE with admission to the Museum located at 327 Bloor W. Please pre-register for the shoe sample event happening between 2-3pm by calling 416-979-7799 ext. 242.


Sunday, January 18

Good Ol' Canadian Fun at High Park
One of Toronto's well-known and loved parks is hosting a day of winter fun activities. Swing by Colborne Lodge for some delicious taffy-pulling and enjoy horse and wagon ride. Other special events will be happening from 11 am-3 pm. FREE (although some activities will have a nominal fee). Colborne Lodge, High Park. 416-392-6916.


Chinese New Year Celebrations at the ROM
Visit the Royal Ontario Museum- one of Canada's top museums- and enjoy special celebrations for the Chinese New Year! There will be music, dance and martial arts demonstrations between 10 am-5:30 pm. FREE with admission to the Royal Ontario Museum, 100 Queen's Park. 416-586-8000.
