NXNE 2012 at Yonge Dundas Square

The annual North By North East (NXNE) Festival takes place until Sunday, June 17 and like always, there are a ton of free shows to accompany the paid gigs. In addition to the many other free gigs such as the  Live In Bellwoods: Great Heart Festival 2012 in Trinity Bellwoods Park, in-store performances and pop up shows at unusual locales, Yonge Dundas Square (SE Corner of Yonge and Dundas Streets, Toronto, ON) is your best bet for big name bands. Every year has seen bigger and bigger local and international gracing the stage, but this year tops them all.

Thursday night skews toward punk rock with a heavy dose of skate punk led by the legendary Bad Religion.

Friday, June 15, 2012

Friday night consists of a mix Canadian alt-rock, with Matthew Good headlining the night.

Saturday is a long day so make sure you get there early or time your washroom breaks accordingly. There will be poppy sounds, alt-rock, indie weirdness and grandiose noise.
